My budgie Spirit is now very ill, now to the point where he won't take any food or drink any water at all. We don't have many avian vets here on Kauai, and all of them are about an hour's drive away from where I live.
Spirit is now too ill to continue living on with the way he is right now. He can't even balance on a perch properly now.
As I type this, I cry over the fact that my sweet budgie of five years is now going to fly with the angels soon. So I'm posting this in advance of Spirit's inevitable passing.
Please keep my family's handsome sweetheart in your prayers as we go through this hard time right now. If he passes on, please pray for him to rest in peace.
I'll update tomorrow on Spirit and whether he passes on.
What makes this harder for me is that my sister, who is two years younger than me (I'm 15) and was the one who chose to bring Spirit home, neglected him. For the past three months, I was the one cariing for him all this time, and only now is when she decides to try to help him. But please keep my family in your prayers too, anyways.
I can't go on any longer about Spirit's present condition.
"Spirit: Even though you might be leaving us soon, please keep watch over us. Thank you for these five years of keeping us company when we needed it, and for being our family friend to talk to after your first cage friend Gale passed away only last year. Thank you for also being Suerte's best friend after he came home to help you fill in that special place you had for Gale in your heart. You were a very handsome budgie, and we thank you for just being here to affect us in our lives. You will always have a special place in our hearts forever and ever."
Unfortunately, Spirit did pass away sometime during the night.
If he did, he must have passed away peacefully.
I had my other budgie Suerte sleep in a separate cage, but it was near where Spirit was sitting when he crossed over, so that way, Suerte could have his last moments of seeing his friend alive before flying with the angels.
His burial is today.
Thank you again, everybody.
Aloha O'e, until we meet again, Spirit.
Let your Spirit go with God, and fly with the angels.
If you meet Gale, then enjoy each other's company.
