We will never know your name - but please fly high
On page 4 of this week's Cage & Aviary is a very sad story
Sea Burial for Pet Budgie
A pet budgerigar has been buried at sea after it had flown onto a navy ship and dies when the ship's alarm suddenly went off.
The lost bird had flown too far from the Devon coast but managed to find a perch on HMS Westminster. It was found by naval officers who were caring for it until it keeled over when the routine alarm rang.
A Royal Navy spokesperson said "We believed he suffered a heart attack. It was a sad moment for the crew."
Will your owners ever know what happened to you? I wish them peace at this time also.
"Little one - we will never know your name, but fly high over the rainbow bridge and enjoy full flight"
