About a month ago, Dodger's right foot became totally numb. He was put on an oral steroid, but that did not help very much. Last week his left foot became numb as well. Every day I've had to wash him so he wouldn't get dirty on his bottom feathers. After washing him in the bathtub he just loved to sit in the warm towel on my desk. He would close his eyes every time I rubbed him on his head.
At around lunch (Monday) he was eating some millet I put in the cage for him. Sometime between 2-4 p.m. he passed away. I buried him last night. It was a bit difficult for me to dig a deep enough hole in our backyard, since I am still on oxygen therapy. I can't believe how much strength I've lost since I was hospitalized in May.
Here is a picture of him taken late last week after I gave him a bath. I miss him a lot.
