OMG this is a terrible story! I completely feel the guilt you must be enduring. This honestly could happen to anyone, but I'm sure that doesn't help you feel any less bad about the situation. I don't really know what to say except that I am sooo sorry for your loss and the terrible incident that lead to your Blue's death.

I nearly didn't post because I don't know what to say.
Nothing anyone says will make it any easier for you.
Just remember this was an accident, you can look back and think what you could have done differently but it won't change the fact it was accidental.
You cared for Blue, and looked after him well.
I am so sorry, and wish I could say something that would help.

Goodness... So sorry for your loss and the horrilbe accident. It was an accident...it really really was. It could happen to any one of us.

I know how you feel... I was holding a friends bird and the birds wings were not clipped. Just as I crossed the room with the bird the owner opened the door and the bird flew right out the door. This was awful for myself and them. I offered to purchase them another bird, but they wouldn't have it. As they said to me... It was an accident. We looked for thier bird for two days... it never turned up anywhere.

So sorry for your loss! At least Blue lived a long life with you. What a horrible way to loose a budgie. I hope you keep posting and that you will share stories of Blue with us.

I usually read these and don't post but this got to me. You gave him a good life obviously. You cared for him and loved him. You ran across the room to help him. It was pure ACCIDENT. It was so quick I don't think he felt anything.

I am truly very very sorry. I hope you are able to move past this eventually and give another bird as good a life as this little guy.

I always have a night light on for my birds, it help avoid night frights. Just a tip for that bird I'm hoping you can give a home to someday.

I agree with Teasha. It is likely to have been so quick he wouldn't have know anything about it.

Blue sounds like he was a real little character. You will miss him.
If talking about him on here helps please keep going. I know of people who don't understand how important our birds (or dogs, cats etc) are to us so if you can't talk to others, talk to us.
