Shazzy is on a distinguished road
Default My beautiful Pippin <3

Pippin was my first budgie and before getting him used to be scared of my mums. When I got pippin he was already about 3 years and the previous owners were getting older and couldn't look after him. At the time I lived in a bedsit so I got to spend alot of time with him and I rememer the first time I was playing my favorite music around him and he started to do that excited headbob. At first I was so worried as it looked like his head was going to come off! Spending so much time with him allowed me to get to know his personality. After about a year or so I started to notice he wasn't acting his self. His singing was less and less and the vet had said there wasn't anything wrong. So eventually I put it down to lonleyness and I had at that time started a college course and thought that maybe a new friend would help. The new budgie and pippin didn't get on and I had to seperate them. About a month ago pippin was coming to the last days of his life. He would seldom talk but just sleep and hide behind his mirror. But the very last few days he seems to respond to me more and would come and see me. A few days after he was just sleeping and his favorite song had started playing on my laptop and i just nipped to the loo but my friend shouted me back in. He had fallen onto the bottom of the cage and came to the corner closest to me and died slouched on the side looking at me. I was so shocked and distraught that I hadn't even put my hand in and cuddled him. I feel so guilty. I feel that maybe me playing that song may have excited him to much and finished him off. Before pippin I didn't think I could love something so small as much as I do. Pippin wasn't a very handled bird and preferred to let me stroke him through the bars. I feel that I didn't give him the best life I could have. I have been holding in my grief as nobody seems to understand how hard it is. I feel so silly but pippin was the best part of my life for two years and used to bring me peace through my depression. I don't have a garden and had to bury him at my friends. I walked with him in a box and put his favorite mirror in the box and wrapped that up in his night time blanket. I felt that carrying him was my last gift to him but walking away was just so horrible

So many of us have gone through that and had all the same feelings of guilt and if only. You are not alone.

You loved Pippin. Pippin loved you. That's very special, and more than a lot of budgies get. He lived a full life with you. It's just so very sad and unfair that their little lives pass so quickly. He was given the best you had to give, and even after he passed, you gave him all honor. In short, Pippin had it good with you, and there is nothing for you to feel guilty about. He was a guide, a teacher for you, and you will carry his memory, his love, and what he shared with you for the rest of your life. He will always be with you.

Rest in Peace, sweet little Pippin. Keep his cute face and happy song close to your heart, and he will be with you forever. You gave him all your love and good care. They just leave us much too soon.

I'm so sorry for your loss of little Pippin.

It is because of Love we Grieve
and
Because of Love we are also comforted
in our Sorrow

In Memories, may you find Healing
In Time, may you find Peace
In the Power of Love, may you find Comfort.

Fly high and free little Pippin -- rest in peace sweet boy.

Im so sorry for your loss of Pippin. I sometimes dont want to have another pet because the pain of loosing them hurts so bad. I dont know why but we can always dig up guilt for something when we're hurting. You did a beautiful wonderful job with your loved one, take peace in that. I wish you well and know that Pippin knew you loved him.
