Dink Wasn't just a bird :(

My favorite budgie Dink just passed away. I don't know what happened he was fine this morning hopping around making noise with the other budgies. Then just a little while ago I found him on the bottom of the cage... :S

No one seems to understand, everyone just keeps telling me it was just a bird, I have four more of them and that at 35 I shouldn't be so upset over a bird and one friend even went so far as to say its not like it was a dog or anything... :( Dink was not just a bird!! he was my favorite and one of my first two budgies. I've had him for almost five years. Its not childish to be sad over loosing him I'm just as attached to my little guys as I am to my dog and cats! I just can't understand how they can say that! :(

and not only am I upset over loosing Dink I'm also afraid for my other birds as I have no idea what happened to Dink, I'm especially worried about Lily as I've had him just as long as Dink. Anyway I know I haven't been on this forum much (real life keeps me busy) But I figured if anyone would understand it would be the people here.

I'm going to miss Dink

I am so sorry about your loss :( I know just how difficult it is. I have been through it and it was really painful. One of the worst days of my life actually. :(

Ignore what other people are telling you, you are not at all silly for being upset over the loss of your animal. They just don't understand. :(

RIP Dink :rip:

I second ALL of this :(

It is hard loosing a bird. When I lost my Talola I felt so empty. She taught me a lot about the way of birds so that is why I try to cherish the memories I had with her instead of letting my sad emotions overwhelm those that are happy.

Your Dink obviously was not just a bird to you therefore you can't hold in what needs to come out!

I am sorry for your loss. R.I.P Dink :(

Im so sorry for you loosing your little Dink... :sad3: I'll never understand how others just dont feel the sadness or at least understand our deep feelings for our pets. Dont mind them, thats just how they are. I feel so bad for you.. If you find what happened, mabie you could share that if its something mabie that can help someone else her.

Sorry about Dink. People say Oh, it's not like you lost your dog or cat b\c budgies don't cost that much. when i took my budgie to the vet, people said why do you spend so much, just buy another one. people are surprised that each bird has its own personality. everyone assumes they have no brain and they all act alike. well, i think we all know better..........

I'm very sorry about your loss of little Dink. :(

People who don't understand your loss are simply incapable of realizing the capacity of love we feel for our budgies.
It's their loss in the long run but the shouldn't be insensitive to your pain.

It is because of Love we Grieve
and
Because of Love we are also comforted
in our Sorrow

In Memories, may you find Healing
In Time, may you find Peace
In the Power of Love, may you find Comfort.

Fly High and Free little Dink -- Rest In Peace sweet boy.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

People who haven't had a bird in their lives just don't understand. For the record, I've loved and lost many animals, and losing my budgie last fall was the worst loss of all, bar none. There was a bond with my birdie that was extra special, and budgies are so fragile that you worry over them in ways you never worry about a dog or cat.

You gave Dink a happy life, and he will always be with you.

RIP, Dink. Fly high and watch over your friends who love you until you are reunited again.

Rest in Peace, sweet little Dink. Keep his cute face and happy song close to your heart, and he will be with you forever.
