Default Mr Pong has joined his friend Ping

It is with great sadness that I have to write this thread. Mr Pong died yesterday morning. He was 6 years old. He had some sort of tumor in his lower ab. he had trouble moving and could no longer fly. Pong was my mom's budgie, but i had him since i was closer to the vet. He really was a sweet sweet character. He gave me kisses all the time and loved to come of the cage, which lead to his death. It was my fault b\c i should have watched him when he was out of the cage, but i left to take a shower. when i came downstairs he was on the floor, his left side not working. i grab him and held him. he was gripping my finger tightly at first then his grip loosen took 2 deep breaths and passed away.
My mom bought Ping and POng shortly after my dad died. Ping was green and the Einstein of our birds. Ping died last May after battling illness for 2 years. Pong was torquise (sp). My first memory of Pong was at the pet store He was running around with poop on his head. We almost bought another budgie, but the salesperson said Pong looked younger, so we took Pong.
As i am writing this i'm finally crying. i didn't yesterday; i think b\c i was mad at myself for not watching him and protecting him. i hope he is now happy with Ping.

Rest in Peace, sweet little Mr. Pong. Carolyn, Ping and Mr. Pong are together again, watching over you and saying, "Thank you for giving us a good home, and I love you." I am so sorry for your loss.

Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Pong's passing. He was a lucky bird to have been so loved. But Mr. Pong was ill. Mr. Pong was also of significant age for a budgie as well. I can't see how you are responsible for his passing on. It sounds like it was just his time to go, and he happened to be outside of the cage when it happened. Please be kinder to yourself. None of this was because of anything you've done. You've loved him, taken great care of him, and said goodbye as his little spirit flew away. That sounds pretty impressive to me.

I send you hugs and much sympathy this evening, as it's so hard to say goodbye to our little friends. But Mr. Pong is whole and well and flying free now. You gave him a wonderful life, and now he's free.
