Default Bye Bye Smokey

A few days ago, I posted symptoms of my sick budgie. On April 1st, Smokey passed away. Im very sad about this and Im still crying as I write this. I dont know if this is the right place to post it, but I was wondering what was the cause of her death. I have a picture of couple days back, when she was sick, but I dont think you can see anything really. We dug him a grave in my front lawn and buried him there. I will always remember her.

If anyone can please tell me what was wrong with her. I dont want this to happen to any other budgies I buy.

Thank you.

I am so sorry that she did not make it.
She does look puffed up which means she had trouble keeping warm. That is a symptom, hard to tell the cause. Maybe others can tell you more.

My condolences,

Sigrid

I too am so sorry for your loss. It is awful to lose on of these little sweethearts; this little one didn't seem to have been dealt a fair hand.

It's really hard to say what may have happened; the only way to know would be to have a necropsy performed, and even then, the results are not always conclusive...

Rest in peace little sweety. May you fly high and free forever.

Rest in Peace, sweet little Smokey. Keep her cute face and happy song close to your heart, and she will be with you forever. They leave us much too soon.

My, my such a lovable budgie gone too soon. Keep all her memories at heart to cherish forever.

Deeply sorry you lost Smokey. What caused her death was a mystery difficult to grasp.

RIP Smokey. Fly high and fly free to wherever takes you.

Rest in peace little smokey xx
She was such a beautiful little girl, i am sorry she didnt make it i have recently lost one of my babies, pidgey, and she was such a sweetheart. It is very hard to lose them so young
I don't think i saw your other thread, so based on her appearance in these pics all we have to go by is that she was fluffed up, which could mean any number of things

If you end up getting another budgie, make sure you thoroughly sterilise her cage and play areas in the house. You can clean the cage and toys in hot water and mild household disinfectant or dishwashing liquid, and rinse thoroughly. This is just because we don't know what she had, and whatever she had might be passed through fecal matter, so it is important for it to be spotless before another budgie can go in there.
