RIP Manu

I came home at lunchtime today after being away from home for a couple of hours, to discover that my baby girl Manu had died during the morning. I don't know when she died, but she was still alive when I left at 10am
I think it may have been the lump on her face that claimed her.
I DID take her to a vet back in March, and we both decided that as it wasn't affecting her everday life, it wasn't worth the risk to remove it.
Charlie walked over to her body earlier, looked at her, then walked away. He seems to be okay at the moment, but he's a little quiet. I'll be keeping a close eye on him over the next few days, to make sure he's still eating and drinking. The last thing I need is to lose him too.

Thanks so much! I've been preparing myself for this ever since I took her to the vet. But it's still hard :budge:

I am so sorry. It's hard to lose one of our little feathery friends.
Charlie will need extra attention now because he will be missing Manu.

Rest in Peace little Manu. https://i319.photobucket.com/albums/m...ody/rose-1.gif

Thanks Arlene
I will definitely be keeping a close eye on Charlie over the next few days to make sure he is eating, drinking, and pooping properly. Charlie and I had always been close, and I hope that this will help us get through.
I've always thought of Manu as being my "accidental" baby, as she was supposed to be a boy. Both myself and her breeder were sure she was a boy.

How soon is too soon to get him a new friend? I just don't want him to be lonely.

Thank you. I knew it was coming, I just didn't know when. She was too young. Charlie seems to have perked up a little.

Rest in Peace, sweet little Manu. Keep her cute face and happy song close to your heart, and she will be with you forever. I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs to you and Charlie.

I will definitely remember her. Charlie won't let me forget her. He talks, and he learnt how to say Manu. So I will probably hear her name pop up in some unusual sentences. Thanks so much for the hugs! I want to get him another friend. There is a bird sale next weekend, and I was going anyway, even before the events of today. How will I know if Charlie is ready or not for a new cage mate though?

I think you will just know when Charlie is ready for a new friend. First he must grieve for Manu.
