Default in loving memory of naughty boy

i was looking after a baby budgie that had some of his beak bitten off almost a week ago, he was a bit scared at first but then just wanted to snuggle up to my neck or tummy and whenever i got home and talked to him he climbed up inside the cage and tried to get to me to be with me.

i fed him a bit of formula in the mornings and evenings and he also had some egg food the last 2 days, he was also trying to eat some seeds on his own.

last night he was chirping and climbing up and down and running around on my bed trying to get to werever i am, so after we had some food last night and played and snuggled a bit i put him in his nest (bowl with netsing material) and my other budgie angel in her cage and then talked a bit and covered them for the night to sleep.

at about 12 last night he was on the floor of the cage and it sounded like he was eating some of the seeds, so i picked him up and put him back in his nest and stroked his head and back a bit, he settled down and i went back to sleep.

this morning when i opened his cage to give him some formula again and to snuggle a bit, he was lying dead on his back in his nest with his tail faithers pulled back and his toes curled. it was such a shock i took him out and tried to see if there was anything i could do but he was already in birdie heaven.

i have been crying my eyes out ever since, he climbed into my heart in such a short time, he will be sadly missed.

Oh Joan I am so very sorry to hear this sad news, please know that you did everything you possibly could for him and that his last days were happy and spent with someone who loved him very much.

I know how hard it is

RIP little one.

Sorry to hear that about the little guy. Though it's part of how things are, it is always sad and painful. Positive thoughts your way.

Joan, I am so sorry to hear this. You know in animal and I am sure in bird life, if their is a problem with a baby, the parents know and the leave it to die. So sad, but you have done all you could. Thinking of you!

Just know that he knew you loved him (and he obviously loved you). You gave him the best home he could have. I'm sorry for your loss.

Joan I am so sorry to hear about your little one. I know how devastating it can be.
I think right now he is playing with the angels and looking down on you. He was so beautiful.
Rest in peace little one.
