We adopted Jules into our family in March this year to join our other budgie, Basil, after Jules's companion died. He had been kept outside and was so scared when we first brought him into our house. Over the few months since he had gotten used to family life and I had just trained him to sit on my finger last week.
He slipped out of the cage this morning when I was changing the water and he flew into the flat side of my desk. It wasn't a particularly loud bang, but he must have hit his head or something.
Hopefully I can stop crying soon.
They may not be your whole life, but they make your life whole.
Oh - I am so sad to hear what happened to Jules - I don't think there was any way to foresee or predict this terrible accident - budgies often move so fast that it's very difficult to stop them, before they get hurt. Please don't feel guilty - it's tremendously sad, though...I pray you find comfort in knowing you gave him a good and loving home
Unending Thanks, Ms FaeryBee, for the Absolute Perfect Picture!
