Hi guys! I'm a new user here but I've been browsing these forums for years. I've recently gotten some new budgies and I was wondering if you guys could help me with them because I'm useless at mutations and I know a lot of you out there are experts.
Male? I'm stumped with this guy the most, if you look closely his chest is green and blue
Update 2B & 2C
Female. paired up with above one (She's got the reddest eyes I've ever seen)
Violet and white female?
Same violet and white one with my regular blue female?
Violet spangle male ? Don't worry about the nest box in the background these birds were only in that cage for a day.
Another picture of above bird.
I've got some other ones which i'll try to take photo's of tomorrow.
==== EDIT ====
Finally got around to taking photo's of my other budgies. Please keep in mind I don't know the mutations of most of these guys so if you know then feel free to chime in
The next two are my singles and then i'll start showing you my pairs.
Pretty sure she's a hen? I want to pair her up with the violet spangle male in #5
Looks blue in the pic but is actually grey. Another hen
The following pictures are my pairs. Most aren't old enough to breed but have been paired up so that when they're the right age they'll already be bonded.
This male is starting to grow up, cere is starting to turn blue and the blue in his chest is starting to show. When he was younger the blue was very faint and could only be seen if you focused on it really hard.
The girlfriend of 9A
Female is the dark blue one, Male is the yellow.
The male on the right is a Yellow face, sky blue spangle (is that how you say it?) no idea of what the hen is.
Lutino and regular blue. These guys are the parents of the blue one in picture #4
Regular green and a sky blue spangle? These two are one of the most surprising pairs i've had. Look at the picture below this one to find out why
This was the baby of the above parents.
I named him Lucky because out of a clutch of five eggs he was the only one who survived. I sold him before he started colouring up and the person hand raising him sent me this photo a few weeks later. He turned out grey and I had no clue how, I then looked at the mother and father and noticed the father (spangle) had some extra grey on his wings, so my guess is that he's split grey. I guess this baby really was "lucky"
The next three budgies have deformed beaks so I took them off a friend so that they could have a good home. I don't know what's wrong with their beaks. I read online that it could possibly be from their parents being messy feeders which would cause the beaks to form slowly, not sure if that's really the answer though (all 3 babies were fostered into the same nest). If you have any clue on what it is then please let me know
This little guys beak isn't as noticeable but it doesn't have the point at the end.
17) My 7 week hand raised Green cheek, Natu (Na-too, named after the pokemon). He's a cinnamon but is also split yellow sided
So those are all my budgies (didn't include my other birds) have fun guessing their mutations
