My male parakeet, Lui, has an amazing pallet of colors and mutations.
His coloration appears to be a possible diluted opaline pied with maybe some gold face. He has plum eyes, semitrical lavender patches on his cheeks, and a purpley blue cere, and he is a male; He's bred recently. He has blue and emerald green on his rump and a stunning yellow face. His neck base feathers are bright yellow with diluted grey/green markings, and the markings on his wing backs are almost clear.
Professional opinion is desired, thanks and have a great day!
He his the beautiful multicolored gold in both pictures
Hm, nobody has come and answered your question. It may be because the flash photo makes it impossible to see his true colors. Can you take a photo without flash, but using natural daylight? Also, you want to avoid the glare from a nearby window, which can cause part overexposure, part deep shadow.
From the current photos I can see that he is some sort of dilution series, and not opaline.
His primaries have come in once again! (I clipped them when he came to help the taming process)
I'm positive that he's a clear-flight pied, and people have told me yf2.
I couldn't any new pics... Sorry...
But those pics actually mirror him perfectly, and sunlight pics do him no good; they make him look colorless, but truthfully, he looks exactly like the pic with flash! And with his flights coming in again, I can tell that they're white, and he's not a dom. pied, I don't think...... Hmmmmmmm....
Do you all think he's a Yellow Face type 2 Clear-flight Pied???
I thought you already asked this question... Either way, he's a greywing, not a clearwing or a dilute because his cheek patches are light violet instead of normal violet or the very pale violet that dilutes have. Considering the little clear patch on this head, and what you said about his flights, he's a clearflight pied for sure. Like I said last time, a picture of his front would be really helpful. It's not as evident in these pictures, but in the other pictures, he definitely looked like a yellowface type II or a golden face considering how bright his yellow face is. I can't tell if he's a single factor or double factor yellow/golden face without pictures of his front. I'm leaning more towards golden face since he seems to be more lime green than sea green. He doesn't look opaline to me.
If you bred him recently, you should be able to determine his mutation based on what the chicks look like.
I hope I helped and I hope you finally figure out what his mutation is for sure! Good luck!
