Breeding a new line of lacewings has been one of my goals for four years now. I have finally reached my goal of producing a lacewing female. She is a 50% American 50% English budgie. The quills of her tail are still bright white but she has light brown cheek patches and bars on her shoulders. Here are a couple photos of her.
I know how long you've been wanting this and how much thought you've put into it. Congratulations! Perhaps it's just the photos, but I can't see we markings. Guess that just means you'll have to provide us with more photos of this little beauty!
The male is an American normal, green split for ino, cinnamon and blue and female is an English cinnamon, grey. Her markings are very light but they are there. I took most of the photos without the flash but then you can't really see her markings. I'm hoping they will get more intense as she ages. She has three siblings, two cinnamon greys and one cinnamon grey green. I'll be posting more photos soon.
What a beauty! Do you have a name for her? If not I would consider Belle, which means beauty (though you probably know that from experience or something )
Anyway, she is SO pretty
