Question about Violet Factor?
Can a budgie just be violet? or are they always a combination of violet and sky blue or cobalt? (or other?)
|
If I understand it correctly (which is always
questionable where I'm concerned) I think violet is a genetic add-on, which is layered onto other colors, including green and grey. It just shows up better in blue so that folks likemyself, who is not always sure what she's looking at, can recognize it more easily. :) |
Skye is correct :) They will always have 0, 1 or two dark factors in blue or green in addition to a color adding factor like sf or df violet :)
|
As I understand it, it also shows on skyblue budgies with double factor violet
|
I took the liberty of going through Lindsey's amazing
mutation site last night and realized that my new addition, Freebird, is a violet-factored light green if I'm reading it correctly. So I have a green bird with a single violet factor if her blue feathers are telling me the truth :) |
Quote ..As I understand it, it also shows on skyblue budgies with double factor violet
..It will also show on sky in the single factor form..It will appear darker than normal sky but lighter than normal cobalt. It can show on any color in single or double factor form.It is more ovious in the double factor to the eye. |
Indi is a yellow faced Violet i think he has a bit of Cobalt I have photo's of Indi in the budigie pictures only new photo's a few days ago have a look at Indi.
