Needing advice

I am new to budgie breeding and I am needing advice on when my babies should have left the nest by. The youngest baby is the only one left in the box and is making no attempt to come out at all (it is 5 weeks old). The other baby has been out of the nest for around 1 week and is coping well although still being fed by mum and dad.

When do the babies usually leave the nest box and should I take it out to give it a little bit of encouragement. I am wanting to take the nest box away asap so that the parents are able to have a rest before I breed them again.

I know this is not asking about genetics or mutations but I couldn't post in the breeding journal part as I haven't made enough posts yet.

hello, ok a few questions sorry:o Do the parents still go into the box and feed the baby regularly? Have you noticed if it ever is near the opening, is it able to climb use it's beak, is it's feet ok? Not splayed, or some injury?
They usually are out and about by that age but you never know it might just be a little slower is it as big as the other baby? SOrry about the questions but it helps work out the problem. Also have you held the babies before and had it out side the nesting box at all? :D

Hi there in answer to your questions.

The baby is fine nothing wrong with it at all, no splayed legs etc. I did plenty of research before breeding and have keep a good eye on them. It is the same size as the other baby. I must say that I have not seen mum or dad go inside the box they sometimes sit on the perch outside (mainly dad) and the baby will come over to them, although I am not sure if they are still feeding it as I have not actually seen them feed it like I have with the other one, I assume they still are as its crop looks full.

Yes I have had it out of the box and it is quite adventurous when it is climbing up and down my arm.

Thanks in advance for any help.
