Default Question for breeding/possibilities.

Hey guys,

So, in 10 months or so when my little girl is old enough I wanna breed her but I have no idea what type of genetic she is and/or what Maverick is. I wanna know what types of colors these guys can throw into the hatchlings.

I'm new to genetics/breeding but I'm keen to learn and find out things.

Here is a photo of my future breeding pair.

At the moment someone is going through a malt (I think it's Maverick... most of the feathers look like his!) And I think it's his first malt as he is borderline 6 months as his cere is turning a really nice dark blue shade.

G'day! Your birds are both gorgeous!

I suck at predicting colours - but I did just want to point out that the dowel stick perches you have in their cage can and probably will cause your guys feet problems. You need some natural branch, cut to fit. And a rope perch up high for them to sleep on - I use a small one for my single budgie and bend it in a U shape, right up the top of the cage. The pair have one each - same U shape right up high. They feel safer that way.

Hopefully, one of the experienced breeders will see this and help you with what likely colours you'll get.

I would say you have a Yellowface (Type 1 I think, I can't tell...) and a recessive pied (?) Maybe someone with more experience can tell you something more accurate?

I'm horrible at mutations, but I'm going to take a dip in the dark and say Yellowface II Double Factor & Mauve or grey recessive pied. Some clearer pics would help us all to guess the mutations. They are both beautiful!
