please help identify mutation

Hello everyone. I just got this new budgie a few days ago. I'm assuming it is a boy based on what I've read on this forum, but would love if you could help me verify that. He's about 12 weeks old. Also, I'm a little confused as to what mutation the little guy is. I think either a df dominant pied or a ressessive pied. Anyone out there can help identify this for me? I'm excited to have my third budgie as well as my first fancy budgie!

Thank you for helping in advance :budgie:

Also, not pictured is he has one white cheek marking and one violet colored marking. Idk if that helps with the mutations but just incase :-)

Thank you! Its pretty hard to tell between the two . Do you think I'm correct in thinking Buddy is a boy?

Yea, if you are just going to look on his back ill say he is a df Dom pied, but at front he has a green band that is making him a sf dominant pied lol! I know someone that has more knowledge than I am can help you :)

Yea, I think he is a boy :)

A lightgreen dominant pied spangle cock due to his differring cheek patches as described by you. Both these genes are dominant. Looks like dominant pied gene wins over spangle gene which is obscured by the pied gene.

You got yourself a double mutated budgie. Lovely

Thank you so much Jimm-V! That's amazing to hear. No wonder I was confused lol. He's my first boy budgie. I can't wait till his personality starts shining

I love the different cheek patches! It's so cool seeing it on another budgie. What a sweetie!

My boy Merengue has them too :)

I never noticed another bird with them before and everytime I go into a store with budgies I almost take one home looking at them all! We have special little guys for sure!:budgie:

I did look into SEAT in some of the other forums. I will certainly give it a try. The first thing ill do is sing the cute song to him (how much is the birdie.....). Lol I love it!
