Default Mutation help

Hi All,

I just adopted 3 budgies yesterday and Id like to identify mutations on two of them. I used no flash and tried to get the best pics I could. Hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance,
Renee

I'm really curious about the yellow one. I know she's a pied but what color? very unusual, and I tried looking online. I think I have an idea but couldn't find many pics.

Here is the other one? I'm thinking cobalt recessive pied? also one more of the yellows stomach. She has very little color, but looks like an olive green, not a bright green.

Both your budgies are recessive pied. One seems to be dark green and the other cobalt blue in colour.

Thanks Aluz,

I was hoping the yellow's markings would show up from my pictures. They are brown on her back. I can see them plain as day in person. I was just hoping it would show up in the pics. I was looking around on the computer last night for a cinnamon recessive pied and I found maybe 1 or 2. Does the brown not show up? I thought looking at the pics I posted that it did?? Anyway, it's most definetly brown. What is your Poppy? Looks very similar to this girl. Are cinnamon pieds very common?? I sure couldn't find much about them.

Also the marking around her cheeks are brown as well. It's pretty cool.
Thanks,
Renee'

The markings don't look cinnamon to me. And yes, my Peppy does resemble yours. Mine is olive green, just a bit darker in colour than yours.
I have never seen cinnamon recessive pieds in person. You should know that recessive pieds have some colour dilution so the black markings you find in normal budgies is more faded in recessive pieds.

Interesting, from the pics I took at least on my computer the markings are showing up brown. Definetly in person. The white recessive clearly has black markings to me. The Yellow one looks brown in person especially. I thought I was seeing things. If they look brownish on a yellow but really not because of the dilution, then maybe, but I would think they would look more of a greyish black, lighter black, not brown? Can you post a pic of Peppy? Sorry I called him Poppy, my eyes are going, lol!

I wish I could get clearer accurate pics

Thanks,
Renee
