Default New disabled budgie

I picked up a new special needs budgie today. The girl I got her from said that she because disabled after she got eggbound. Her right leg now is permanently sticking straight out. She can still grasp things with it, but can't walk or perch.

Can someone tell me what mutation she is? And is it just me, or does she look more like a he? The cere is awfully blue for a girl. Or is she one of the mutations that doesn't have a normal colour cere?

The eggbound story was from 3 owners ago, so I'm not sure how accurate that is.

My goodness! Her leg looks an awful lot like my Storm's.

The best thing you can do for her is making sure she exercises it. Climbing up the side of the cage is excellent exercise. Provide slightly thicker perches & rope perches for her to sit on. Apart from that there is nothing you can do really. She will adapt to her gift, just like Storm did.

What a beautiful little girl! Have you chosen a name for her? She's ready for the good life to begin. Karma to you, Michelle.

Bless your heart Michelle.. I think that people who take on a disabled budgie are wonderful and caring to them..They make the best pets i no.. Busters foot isn't as bad as the one you have but his foot was turned on the side and he walked on the side of his foot. They are so loving and i miss Buster so much.. I lost him from Cancer he had a lump that had to be removed from an operation and that gave him 6 more months with me... I now have loving memories of him he was my beautiful boy... I now have Indigo and he is my beautiful boy to.. Hear is a photo of Buster... Your budgie is beautiful... The breeder i got buster from damaged his foot when he put the ring on when buster was a little baby the breeder was an old man that couldn't see very good...
Michelle if the Avian vet told me to treat our disabled budgies like normal budgies they can adapt to there life style and with a lot of love and attention they will love you disabled budgies make the best loving pets..... You are wonderful to take on a beautiful budgie...

I'd put money on a leg fracture that healed incorrectly. Egg binding happens when an egg gets stuck inside the body - it doesn't cause leg deformities.

She looks like a female to me, but not in breeding condition. My guess is that she is a sky blue dilute. Gorgeous bird!

To me that is a typical case of splayed leg, and that happens on the nest when they are still chicks.
She is a beautiful girl, I'm glad you got to adopt her. She is a sky blue greywing budgie.

Ooo she's SO pretty, I'm so sorry about her leg but I'm sure she's in good hands with you. Looks like sky greywing to me too, maybe also opaline/spangle.
