Default What is she?

what is my little rescue girly? I know she is a spangle, but what green is she? she has a lot less spangle marks than Chip does, is it because she is smaller?

Here's my totally wild guess - grey green spangle opaline?

She looks like an olive greywing spangle, possibly clearflight pied - hard to tell without seeing the back of her. Does she have a "bald spot" on the back of her head (patch without any barring)? The greywing mutation dilutes the body colour somewhat, and also lightens the wing markings.

She's a beauty! Lucky you!

On second inspection, I think Mary's right - looks more like grey green than olive.

I was going to say greywing or dilute olive spangle. Maybe an green grey or green violet though? I am terrible at separating those. Lindsay says my dilute is a grey green and I still can't tell how she can tell that!

She is super cute, I can't believe no one has reported her lost yet. She can't have gone far!

Thanks, I can't get a picture of her back yet, or a good look at it really, because she is always facing me or fluttering around the cage

The bad news: no word from anyone yet

The good news: there has been no talk of "finding a new home for her" either I even came home today and someone had put an extra perch and a new millet sprig in her cage

I'm guessing grey green greywing spangle

I think telling olives and grey greens apart is the same as telling mauve and grey. The cheek patches are dark violet in olives/mauves and light grey/blue in greys

either way, she's adorable!

Note to self: Check to see which computer I'm using before accidently posting on Aisy's account LOL
