What Kind of English Budgie Is He?

I think he is stunning, anyway. And do you see any indication of his age?

To my very uninformed eyes, he is a male cobalt greywing???

ETA - The backlight on your computer has to be set high to see his color as it appears in real life. At least mine does.

Ooooooh, I think male cobalt full body greywing :D my cobalt greywing is paler than yours, full body greywings still have a normal body colour that isn't faded, I only have one fullbody greywing and he is also cobalt, but violet, so I can't use him to compare for you  but this is my cobalt greywing with dilution:

Here is the violet full body greywing you can see his colour is still nice and deep:

Yours are gorgeous. What is the bird on the left, facing away?

And is there any general indication of my budgie's age?

Which bird? :p the photos I posted have bits of birds everywhere :giggle:

I think he is young, he still has pale irises, maybe 9months to 18 months, but I couldn't say for sure. He is absolutely stunning though, he looks filled with character! :D

Hello, he could be a clearwing, he has full body color, also patches are dark violet. Also, I've read that Clearwings in USA have more grey on thier wings compare to Clearwings in Australia.

Thank you ! I bought him a mate - a female greywing, but 'm still trying to capture her color in photos; I can't! It's very frustrating! I definitely see some violet - sort of like a periwinkle blue? She's also molting right now and a mess. :)

She sounds lovely! It's very frustrating trying to take a good picture, especially of violets because the camera never seems to want to capture it. I've found lots of natural light and no flash works best but it also depends on the camera. I'm pretty sure my camera takes a shocking photo on purpose ;) good luck, I can't wait to see pics of her and future chicks :)
