Some help IDing 2 birds please
I know theres some folks on here that can help me get these 2 birds mutations right.
These are 2 of my favorite birds out of my flock.
I will tell you my guesses...
Im thinking female, dark blue, sf yellowface I ?
Im thinking male, blue, sf yellowface I, with some sort of pied?
He is pale yellow on his head, fading down to creamy yellow with blue patches on chest, cream wings with white flight feathers, the blue on its back is much darker/more blue than the blue on his front and underneath.
The second bird looks like a recessive pied to me :) Lindsey will be more of help on the other mutation but I'm thinking the same as you ;)
Looks like df yellowface II cobalt hen to me
and sky blue sf yellowface II recessive pied cock.
just a guess
lol, recessive pied.... dagnammit!
I gotta go look at that page again....
Ohhhhhhhhhh....... recessive pied... because of the black eyes and pinkish cere?
And sf yellowface II because the yellow spreads to the whole body, making the underneath parts the turquoiseish color and leaving the pied marks the cream yellow?
Is that right?
But why does the yellow fade to the cream color?
Is that part of recessive pied or sfyellowfaceII, or something else?
And yes, df yellowface II seems to fit the female very well.
You really think shes a cobalt?
lol, anyways, none of this really matters I guess, but its all so very interesting, and confusing, and fun ;)
The yellow usually is strongest on the head and then varying degrees on the body.
The girlie looks too dark to be a sky blue and too light to be a mauve, so cobalt seems right.
Isn't it cool? It's like figuring out a puzzle and just when you think you have it figured out, it gets even more complicated! love it :D
Cute birdies btw :budgie:
all the sudden, I'm seeing more and more green/yellow spread down the yellowface's chest...
Im changing my hypothesis to SF YellowFaceII...
