Default Question About The Youngest Baby

Hi everyone,
My baby budgies came out the other day (well one yesterday, and the other 4 days before) I have't been able to put any photos up (camera issues )
Both are Opaline, so I know that they are both girls, but the younger baby is also visually violet (as in DF), does that mean that the mother would also be violet in order for this to happen?

I will post photo's when I have got some...

I'm not that good at mutations, but I would say yes that the mother is also a carrier of the violet gene.

There is a good article on violet budgies over at the Ken Yorke web site, check the following link - https://users.tpg.com.au/users/kyorke/violets.htm
It shows all the possible breeding combinations to come up with a visual violet, its not always that the parents are visual violet to throw visual violet offspring, all it needs in some cicumstances is for 1 of the parents to be carrying the violet gene and the other to be carrying 1 dark factor gene as in like a cobalt mated to a violet sky blue, neither are visual violet, but they can throw 25% visual violet progeny as the percentages work out.

Its all very well explained on that web site I mentioned.
