Default How to get:

Hello everybody, so my unexpected mating and subsequent chick-raising has been going splendidly, and with no hitches.
I owe a big thanks to alot of you for that

Now, i never plan/ed on being a bird breeder, and I am all about adopting my birds.
That being said... i have a BIG outdoor aviary...

I want to know if it is possible to pair any of the birds I have to get a blue bird with a yellow head and yellow wings, not really concerned about the black markings whether they are dark or diluted or reversed or whatever...

I really like the look of that color bird, and IF I was to intentionally breed my budgies, I would only do it if I could get this result.
I have a yellowface female and many various other mutations in my flock, including spangle and greywing(Im pretty sure).

So please tell me what mutations are needed to result in an all blue bird with yellow head and wings, and I can then see if I have what is needed, which seems easier than trying to get a clear shot of each of my birds(they are not hand tame mostly).

Thank you so much

Any sort of sf yellowface II pied or spangled blue budgie will usually display this sort of thing. Do you mean like this?

here's the closest thing I have to a pied yellowface, she's just a very pale yellow so it's hard to tell in the picture that her wings and tail are yellow but you get the idea

Yes! Just like the first picture you posted, except I would want bright color.

So I have pied, I have yellowface, and I have spangled...
I believe my yellowface is single factor yellowface II, because her body color is getting more and more greenish, but Im not sure.
Tomoro Ill get pics of what i got that might fit the bill

Like this, although this bird is SO bright I am thinking it might be photoshopped, but this is basically what I want.
Not my pic(obviously)

Those 2 are diluted, either greywing or cinnamon so that's why their colours aren't bright. They are yellowface II spangles though so if that's what you want, you don't need the pied.

A single factor goldenface will give you a face colour that bright, but it turns the bird green after their first moult. Looks like someone has tried to paint over where the green has come in. A double factor goldenface spangle would give you a bright face like that but not a green body. I'm just not sure if it would spread to the wings if spangled or pied.

That

Yellowface II spangle seems close enough for govt. work...
And I think I can do this with the birds I have...
I will take pics tommorro so hopefully you can confirm this for me

My spangle is very young still, and very light, almost pastel, like the ones in your pic.
I dont even know if its male or female yet, I just got it off of craigslist maybe 2 weeks ago...

Hmm, this would be kinda cool if I can do this according to my plan, cause I won't even try if I won't get the birds I want.

Thanks for the help Aisliyna!
