Funny they are friends because they were suppose to be
a pair!:D but he turned out to be a male, not a girl when he was just a baby.

Males tend to kiss and feed each other. Budgies are so open minded ;)

Haha. I'd love to see budgies marching for marriage equality!

If he is a greywing, then yes, she'd have to be split for greywing, dilute or clearwing even.

Does he have any black lines on his wings?
In the picture it looks like he doesn't but some opaline spangles have almost no markings on their wings and that doesn't make them greywings. It's also hard to tell dilution in grey budgies, especially from pictures.

he is just plain light grey all over his body, nothing black.

Yes, I Know :p I have had budgies since I was 6:D:cool:
But only started breeding them in 2009:2thumbs:
still learning their genetics. I was more into zebra finches first.
Budgies are more fun:woot:

What will they give me/produce?
They are two of my fav budgies and I am excited for this :)

he is opaline greywing grey sf spangle ( If I remember correctly)

and she is opaline cobalt df violet sf spangle.

Vaguar I agree with your original thoughts in terms of mutations here, and yes you have a very good chance of getting a violet grey from this pairing
