Question Mutation?

I get confused. I was told my rainbow is a sky blue yellowface type 2 opaline dominant pied and I still can not find all those words put together in an internet search so i guess he is a special boy. lol your birds are very pretty too! Love the dilute

He is so sexy I had to re separate the boys from the girls cage lol

You are correct in his mutations, although he is not a true rainbow as he is lacking the clearwing or full body greywing mutations, and a true rainbow would not have the pied

He is a beutiful bird. It's very hard to produce a rainbow and in different countries they consider a rainbow different mutation. Don't stress about it being or not a rainbow. It's just a mutation that people think it is "in fashion" and petshops use it as a marketing trick.

A rainbow is a mutation that displays only:
Goldenface (or Yellowface type 2)
Clearwing
Opaline

And if possible Violet Factor.

In some countries they don't even accept Darkness factor in Rainbows.

Your budgie is an Opaline Yellowface type 2 Pied (i need a front photo to see if he is a Dominant Pied or a Clearflight Pied) He is not Greywing, nor Clearwing, nor Full Body Colour Greywing, nor Dilute, because he has black lines. As long as that little one has a great personality and makes you happy, his body mutation doesn't matter. Pieds are from my favorite mutations, and pieds look so unique and have different patterns, so can can even have one of a kind in the whole world.
