I have been reading and learning about budgie colour variations and trying to match my budgies to what they are. I was looking at the anthracite dark grey budgie and I was wondering if my budgie was one. He has very dark grey feathers and a yellow face, the yellow goes into the wings too. His check marking is black. I'm on my phone and can't upload a photo on here, I'll try again when I get on the computer. But is there anyone that can confirm If he is anthracite? I can't find a budgie online that looks like him at all.
No he's a lot darker than that budgie, I also read somewhere that Australia have no anthracites. But I'm curious to also know if the anthracites have the yellow face as the ones I've seen online all have white faces and he looks like them but with the yellow face. He is about 2 and I recently bought him from a breeder that was selling some of her surplus budgies. Soon as I am able to I will post his pic.
Hey Linda. The yellow face and wings is a separate mutation and unrelated to anthracite. It's more than likely that your budgie is double factor violet mauve but I'm very interested to see pictures also
