There does seem to be a vioet tint doesn't there? I am not confident with picking violets in pictures unless it is really obvious though as I have taken pictures that look violet, or not, yet I know that in reality it is not accurate...

I definitely know what you mean! Pictures can be so deceiving when it comes to violet unfortunatly. It drives me crazy

Let me see if I can find a picture of one of my violet mauve cinnamons to compare

Here is one of my little ones from this year. Her parents were both Df violet cobalts, with daddy being split for cinnamon

Mauve cinnamons will have a deep blue tail and lavender cheek patches, while grey cinnamons will have brown main tail feathers and blue/grey cheek patches. From what I can see in the photo, the little girl in question fits the description of a mauve to me

For some reason that is beyond me, diluted mutations seem to show the violet better than full body colored birds in photos. Every picture I have taken personally that even comes close to looking lavandar/purple like they do in person is from one of my diluted birds. Go figure

I, too, find violets in photos frustrating.

If her tail is blue then she must be mauve, I was looking at her cheek patches and thinking they were more grey/blue than pale violet....

Thanks for you participation and your photos. Tony and Cute...

Her tail is like a kind of brownish I donīt see it blue.

I think she has violet factor and I don't see her like the grey one. She looks more like the little baby mauve.
Maybe you will see better the tail in this photo and definitivement the violet color doesnīt come out the same

Thanks a lot...
