Just so you know.. I have 14 budgies... 7 males, 7 females. And I can put them all in the same huge flight cage and they all get along.

But, right now I have 11 of them in the flight cage ((because of babies)) which makes me female heavy.. and they argue when going to bed. As soon as it goes back to even numbers, they'll stop arguing.

females have white on their cere, males do not...

the other colors don't matter... till they get older, an older female will be tan/brown if in breeding condition.. but when not, it always has white around the nostrils of her cere.

That's what says female.

I saw this same bird today at the store and it is just now molting and getting in new feathers on the top of its head... Cere looked pink today... So it was younger when I first saw it.

I've heard from people and read that female birds can be little terrors... So that's why I didn't bring it home already...

Just so you know, being little terrors has nothing to do with the sex of the bird. It has to do with the personality of the bird.

Boys can be just as bad as girls.
