Default lutino?

I was just curious what mutation Butters (friends budgie I'm watching) was?

Ok, so she is lutino right?

But I was wondering, why is her feathers such a blotchy yellow? She has some area's that are white looking and others darker yellow. The majority is a mixture making a cream look overall, but then she also has an obvious (in real life) bright yellow to her forhead.

Pics of her, you can see the blotchy yellowness and she has a bright yellow on her forehead.

no she isn't a lutino , I don't see red eyes - IF they are by chance red (fire engine red) she'd be a creamino (yellow face lutino) other wise I'm not sure

she's not a dark eyed clear she'd be pure yellow (canary yellow like a normal lutino) only she'd have normal dark eyes

Then what is she?

She doesn't have red eyes, they are dark (and as far as I can tell) look like they will stay that way. They are the same as Lemon's.

She is not completely cream/yellow, she has white to her and the varying splotches/shades of yellow coloring.

from the looks of it a Type 2 Yellow face

I'm going to go out on a limb and say she looks like she could possibly be a double factor spangle - Since she has no markings at all

She is a type 2 yellow face and she is either a double factor spangle or a dark eyed clear. You will be able to tell which when she is mature, a double factor spangle will develop iris rings and a dark eyed clear will not. A bird the same colour that has red eyes would be a creamino (which is another name for a yellow face albino)

WOW! I have the perfect mate for Butters! My Zippy looks almost exactly like her, only his coloring is more subtle, looking more white with just the tiniest hint of yellow in the body. Like Butter, he has a yellow face, brighter. Was told the same thing about his mutation as you have been. Aren't they just stunning looking birds???

Just because the 2 birds look alike they may not be the same mutation. If one was a yellow face dark eyed clear and the other was a yellow face double factor spangle and they were bred together the chicks would be ordinary spangles and clearflight spangles. If one was a creamino the chicks would be different again. But if they were both the same mutation then the chicks would look like the parents

Oh I know, I just can't get over how close in color they are. I went looking at Zippy, and the only easily noticed difference was in cere color with the lighting in the bird's room at the time, his yellow hue was coming out. too bad he absolutely hates the camera
