Goldenface opaline spangle mauve
goldenface opaline spangle skyblue or possibly cobalt.

would be my guesses

It would be awesome if they were golden face!

Then the budgie on picture two to the left is the golden face mauve?

They're very beautiful. I'm hoping to learn more about mutations, but it's all Double Dutch to me right now. :dunno:

You know I can't help you with mutations but I can tell you just how gorgeous I think your boys are!

They are stunning! For what it's worth they look golden face, opaline, spangle to me as well.

Thank you!
Its the first time I find and see a golden face here in Iceland, Im so happy!!

So how does it work, is it OK to breed YF II with Golden face?

StarlingWings 03-04-2015 11:19 AM

Yep, it should be fine! If they're double factor, and if yellowface II is double factor, about half the chicks should be yellowface and the others will be goldenface, I think. Not sure, but if you breed sf yf II with df yellowface, then most of the chicks will be goldenface sf? Some will be df, right?

Okay, I'll just admit that df and sf mutations are hard to predict! Someone correct me if I'm wrong :D

I think Goldenn Face also though it is always tricky to be sure. If you breed them with a Yellow Face 2 you will get lots of birds with yellow faces but no real way to be sure what type they are, it will just be guesswork from the intensity of the colour with no way to be sure if it is one, the other or a mix of both.

Yep that is the one I think is mauve :D

As others have said it will be a bit hard to visually see which youngsters is yellowface II and goldenface if you cross the two.

And just to make things more difficult, it is actually possible to have a yellowface II goldenface budgie  This is due to the fact that both genes are co-dominant and they can both be visible on a bird that has both genes.
