Sky blue, sf yellow face II , Opaline spangle. Looks like a little boy but there's still a lot of melanin on the beak and cere so it's a little hard to tell. It could be making the cere look darker than it really is.

Beautiful baby!

Hey gorgeous! I was right about the mutation, opaline, spangle, yf II, sky blue!
To me it looks like a hen! Usually I find that males have shinier and more pink ceres at this age.

Thank you so much!! I think it's stunning, but I'm biased. The opaline was what I wasn't 100% sure about. Boy or girl, this one will be staying with me!!

Yep, looks like you got it right Starling!! Opaline always confuses me when it's combined with spangle. I have at least one more that will be SF YF II spangle. If it's not opaline as well, it might really help me to see the difference.

Thanks Vargur! Mom is opaline. There was thought that dad might be split to opaline because of his suffusion. So, it's looking like he is. I think this chick lucked out genetically. SF yellowface II, from mom, opaline from both and spangle from dad.

Yes, I totally agree! That's why I was excited I seem to have gotten it right because sometimes the suffusion which could occur in spangles (you mentioned Finwe has suffusion) looks like opaline to me!
But this little one for sure looks opaline, and definitely hit the perfect combination of genes!!

Easiest way to tell an Opaline spangle from a normal spangle with suffusion is to look at the nape of the neck, between the shoulders/wings. On opaline spangles there should be a "V" shape of body color! (In this case sky blue) I see a lot of blue pinnies in that area on your bub so I'm pretty sure s/he is Opaline!
