Budgie mutation help

So, I'm just yet again wondering about the mutation of my budgie. This is because his body colour is not even and he has patches of other shades of blue within it - as he sheds his feathers I see that some of his feathers has two different shades. He has a pied patch, though, so he must be pied obviously. He doesn't look like the other pieds I see around here though because his entire body is a solid colour, except for the white above the tail.

How can I know if he is violet? I have looked at Cute Little Birdies Aviary - Welcome To Our Aviary! but it's all still so difficult when comparing with the bird in front of me :p

What a beautiful and unique looking fellow. I am no good at mutation's but would say I do believe he is violet factored. Some of the same color on body as chirper's half sider.....

I agree with Randy  from these pictures it looks like Violet Mauve Sf Dominant Pied to me also :)

If he has no white patches on his belly or chest I'd like to think he is a violet mauve clearflight pied. :)

He has no white patches on his belly anywhere indeed. Thanks for the responses, tht was enlightening :) and yes I saw chirpers budgie and thought they have similar colouring!

Yup, I'd have to say the same thing.

I agree with clearflight pied. :)

I see cobalt and grey. Since his tail appears to be black, I think he's cobalt blue-grey rather than mauve. But if his tail is navy blue, he's mauve. See Mauve Or Grey? - Cute Little Birdies Aviary.

In the third photo, he looks violet, too. But I think violet would turn the body color darker??? So I'm not sure about violet.

He's lovely!

I see white down near his leg...

Hmm, well he has maybe 1 white feather right above one leg, although it doesn't always appear - isn't that "just" a fluff feather? He has no white patch between the legs, on the belly or the bottom. If anything, just the patch above the tail and maybe a couple of feathers on the top of one leg.

Since his cheek patches are a darker blue/violet and not a silver/pale'ish blue I think he is mauve. In real life his tail also appear to be a very dark blue rather than completely black.
