Default Confused about baby's colour

I paired up 2 sky blue budgies and 1 of their babies looks like it is going to be cobalt blue. When put next to its sibling and parents it is defanitly a darker blue. Why is this I thought Sky Blues would only produce sky blue babies.

Mum is a sky blue sf yellow face 1 sf spangle
Dad is a sky blue normal split for ino

Their babies have ended up being
Baby 1 same as mum
Baby 2 what looks like cobalt blue
Baby 3 creamino
Baby 4 is going to be blue ( feathers just starting to come through)

I have attached photo of baby in question. Would only allow me to attach 1 photo but do have another of his/her front if needed.

You're correct that two sky blue parents can only produce sky blue chicks.

However, the violet color-adding factor can darken the sky blue.

Is one or both parents sky blue violet? Can you please post photos of the parents?

I think the hen is sky blue violet.

It's hard to tell exact colors from that photo. Natural lighting is best.

I have been watching them since you mentioned one could be sky violet and I think the hens colour a little darker than the cocks so I am going to say that she is sky blue violet.

Thanks for your help in this.

You're welcome. I hope we're right.

Please continue to post photos of the chick as s/he develops.
