I agree, that bird is beautiful !
When I first saw my Twigs, I wasn't even looking to get a budgie, but it was like WOW yellow with blue!! I MUST have him now!!! . That is my favorite budgie color .

I'm wondering how rare it would be (what the mutation would be) if one was like Twigs in my avatar, BUT with a completely clear (or very lightly marked back). Is such a color even possible? Or would the dilution to make the back feathers clear also make the cobalt part washed out and lighter?

There is a bird here named goldilocks that seems to have the same or simular coloring: https://talkbudgies.com/budgie-pictur...oldilocks.html

If Twigs was a Clearwing he would have very reduced depth of markings and retain the normal body colour...

Oooh, Goldilocks is gorgeous! I love her too!! I hope aluz sees this ! I'd better not show Twigs though... He's supposed to be falling for the big baby - Mink haha.

Goldilocks looks an interesting shade of blue, almost mauve-y blue or violet?? Very nice. Twigs is more turquoise (gf2 cobalt) so that it looks greener in some pics.

No, not goldenfaced, but yellow-faced type 2nd. A goldenfaced would have darker golden yellow face.

Hey Julie, you better tell Twigs to close his eyes! Here is a more recent pic taken two months ago showing Goldilocks in her now adult plumage.
Photo taken in natural light, of course.

Beware of light, as Goldenfaced can be mistaken for Yellow-faced type 2nd in photos with unnatural light.

Try photo the bird in overcasting (cloudy) weather.

Ooh Goldilocks is such a gorgeous girl ! Wow... LOVE the colors. Twigs would be a perfect match since he's the same, only with a different shade of blue .

Fortunately Twigs did not see this pic since I'm not at home lol.. Anyway I'd have to tell him she's in Portugal so they can never meet anyway . He better either take to his "arranged" mate Mink, or have no one hahaha !

Thanks for the compliment!
Goldilocks is also taken, she does have a mate that she absolutely loves and your Twigs will surely feel the same way for Mink as time goes by.

Here are some new pics of Sherbet, taken in natural light. Just to be sure he's goldenface even though it's not that important.
