Default Look at this interesting color mutation - what is it?

I saw this beautiful budgie at a bird store a couple months before I found Mink, but I could not have him since he was part of an older wild breeding pair up for rehome (there's his green/yellow mate in the background of the second pic). I was after a single pet quality bird, but this guy sure was eye candy!!

What mutations does he have as far as making that particular shade of mint green? Some might call it seafoam green, or that unisex pastel shade of green that you see for baby humans. WOW, I've never quite seen that shade before in a budgie. I've seen close, but not like that! Ooh I so wanted him but not his mate haha.

That beautiful boy is a sky blue, yellowface II, opaline, dominant pied, greywing. ^^ phew that was a mouthful.

It's the combination of skyblue and yellow face that produce the seafoam color. Greywing washes out the body color making it appear more pastel.

Thank you Reese!! . Then it was the greywing part that you said washed him out more pastel, that made him look different from other sky blue yellowface 2's I've seen. Sky Blue/Yellowface 2/Opaline/Greywing..... Yep. That's my bird eventually

I know guys... running out of the store was all I could do to keep from buying him (and his mate of course is sold with him). I was also probably drooling as I was looking at him

I wanted to know what mutation this is, so that I know what to look for waaaaay down the road lol. I didn't care about the dominant pied part, but that particular color and the fact that its an opaline greywing made it SO stunning.

I love that shade of green, also...I think it may be similar to the little green budgie of ours in my avatar, that passed away earlier this yr...I'm looking for another one, but can only find the usual green/blue types. Arya, who turned out to be a male, had that soft pastel colouring.

Julie,
I agree with you that the Seafoam Green is one of the prettiest mutuations.
Thanks for sharing the picture of the beautiful little fellow.

Reese -
Thank you for explaining the mutation.
