Smile What mutation is my little Dita?

Hello all I'm fairly new to breeding and I want to be able to chart my offspring and parents properly, so I'm here to ask about my little lady, Dita. My last clutch of 6 little wonders was pretty easy to identify but I must admit I am in doubt with this little one. I got her as a rescue recently (Apparently the child who owned her had grown bored with her and the parents approached me searching for ways to kill her. I offered to take her instead)

My research got me as far as a probable Yellowface thus far. If I was going to guess I'd say Yellowface II Single Factor but since I lack the experience to really tell I thought I'd ask around here for some more trained eyes She's quite speckled with green markings deeper than her sea green overall tone and that really threw me a bit. Also, to me her face looks too pale to be a Goldenface.

Fun fact; if you look at the background you can see two of my other budgies; dominant pied Castiel and Peachy They love photobombing xD

Anyway, here she is! I don't have a lot of photos of her but hopefully these will do. She's very calm and trusting so I'm sure I can get some more photos should you guys need it.

Thanks in advance! :3

Hello!

I am no mutation expert but wished to welcome you to Talk Budgies nonetheless. Your little girl is adorable. First of all, may I say thank you for rescuing her?

As you probably figured (since you decided to join), this is the perfect place to ask questions and get helpful answers.

Our mutation experts will be along shortly to assist.

I hope to see more of your budgies around and hear all about their breeding and antics

She looks like a Skyblue Opaline Golden Face to me. Her yellow looks almost as strong as a green series bird in the pictures. Is it that yellow in reality?

Thanks for responding! Apparently I need to read up more on Opalines :3 It is indeed, it gets quite pale on the sides of her face but on her cheeks, the area around her eyes and beak it's quite strong. Next to my dominant pied yellow there's not really any difference in shade.

Welcome to the forums!
I fully agree with Toni, your budgie girl's yellow looks very rich and intense to be yellow face type II.

She's beautiful and I'm glad you took her in and gave her a second chance at a much better life!

Thank you so much! :3 I really wanted to chart her exact mutation before I put her together with my male, you've both been a great help! :3 I like knowing everything beforehand And yes, I'm really happy they asked me. Knowing what could have happened to this gorgeous little madam just because of disinterest appals me. Some people shouldn't be allowed to keep pets.
Hopefully she'll eventually bond with my male and produce some lovely little babies

Welcome to TB!
Agree with all that's been said, she's definitely a Skyblue Opaline Goldenface She's a beautiful color! My hen is similar but is Yellowface II instead of Goldenface, you can see her in my signature.
I hope to see some pictures of the rest of your beautiful flock! It'll be good to have some more breeding expertise on here, it's great to have you!

Thank you so much! I feel so welcome!
Seeing your lovely little bird I definitively will be able to tell the two types apart in the future! She sure is a beautiful Yellowface! :3
I only have two left from the initial clutch, both pied :3 I was initially planning not to breed any more chicks at least for a while but a year later I really miss it so hopefully I'll start back up in a while :3 I just recently introduced my new hen to the male so it'll still take some time before I'll know if they will bond or not :3 I'll make sure to create a breeding journal when I get that far though

Thanks again!
