Question questions on my birds.......

ok so i was wondering the age and mutations of my birds, im new to the breeding area of parakeets and my guess is they are both around....maybe 9 months old, sorry i cant post anything so im using the avatar and sig. i know the sig. is female, and the avatar is male, but what in the world are the real names for the color? ive just been calling it green and blue.

ok i'll have a go, the guy looks like he could be a normal (the normal colour you find in wild budgies), but the clear patch of feathers at the back of his head could mean he's a dominant pied. and the girl looks like a normal sky blue

The bird in your signature is a normal sky blue. If the bird in your avatar has other clear yellow areas on his body or clear yellow flight feathers he is a pied (probably dominant), if he has no clear areas, other than the patch we can see on the back of his head, then he is a normal light green that is split for recessive pied.

yea, hes got that on the back of his head, and then a couple random spots on his wings, and all his flight feathers are normal, except on the left, the last 2are a wightish yellow wierded color.

do either have iris rings? how dark are they if they do ?

just going by the bars i'd say at least 6 months old

oh scratch that, the iris on one is almost completely black, starting to show, the other is dark yellow?

there isn't a yellow iris ??

its either black, light grey, medium grey or white

i coudve sworn it was yellow, but i looked closer. i think its about in the middle of what the website calls dark grey, and medium grey. so theyre both pretty young. how long is the average lifespan?
