The classic rainbow is a type 2 yellow (or golden) face opaline clearwing blue or violet. The name was given to this type of bird before some of the other mutations appeared. I have noticed that some people call any colourful budgie a rainbow. If you just want to breed a beautiful multicoloured bird I can't see that it matters if it has other mutations mixed in. Perhaps it should be called a "Rainbow Plus"
