Default chicks mutations

Hi Budgie Lovers

I have recently bred my beautiful Frost and Citrus
Frost is a Sky, Cinnamon, Opaline, SF goldenface
Citrus is a Sky Spangle, Opaline, SF Goldenface

As far as i know, they have no split mutations
they have 3 chicks, 1 of them i know the mutation as he looks exactly like dad
But these 2 are confusing me, one looks cobalt or violet!!

These are probably the best pictures i can get as they dont sit still for long.

First 2 pictures are of chick 1, one when he was younger and with flash on and another now he is a bit older and without flash

second 2 pictures are of chick 2, like chick 1, one when he was younger and one now he is older........he is always moving his head around whenever i take a picture haha

Thank you in advance

Okay, so you clearly have two blue Spangle Opaline Golden Faces there . THe mum could well be a Cobalt as Cinnamon can soften or lighten the colour slightly (on this page you can see a pair of sisters, one normal cobalt and one cinnamon cobalt to see the difference). That would explain it if that chick turns out Cobalt, and it does look like one at the moment.

I am not sure of the reason for the pale wing markings on the first one, it may be clearer once she is older.

ahhh, i thought they may have a hidden gene somewhere within the male,it is weird how one has very little to no markings and the other has markings.
the 3rd chick looks near enough exactly like dad, with the spangle markings but is opaline.

when younger all of them had white down feathers meaning they are opaline.
the different markings are very strange and made me think they may have greywing in them

I agree with Toni.

The first chick is a sky, goldenface, spangle, opaline for sure. Maybe the cobalt in Chick #2 makes the wing markings look more solid and not so "blended" together?

Chick #2 is a cobalt, spangle, opaline, goldenface. They are gorgeous
