The father is not opaline, he is only spangle The chick, though, is odd, because as a baby he looks very spangle but as an adult he has a lot of suffusion, although he can't be opaline. Was the mother opaline? He could be split opaline which could contribute to the suffusion.

The greens parents where a spangled cock and a normal hen even his father had the suffusions the blue ones mother was an opaline yellowface. Now this blue spangled has a chick thats normal even though the mother is opaline.

If this blue chick's mother was opaline, that explains the suffusion since it is probably genetic and also probably related to him being split opaline.

I have no answers for your question, but in the picture of Oliver as an adult the bird behind him makes it look like Oliver is wearing a pair of blue underpants over a big beer belly, and it's making me giggle a lot. It's not a very dignified look for such an otherwise handsome bird!
