Unfortunately, it would be most difficult, if not impossible to determine mutation type from a description alone. We would definitely need pics to make a determination. As soon as you are able, we would love to see pictures of all your birdies!

And welcome to TB!

Wow! Just wow! Your birds are just gorgeous! I love their colors. Still, unfortunately, I am horrible with mutations, but we do have quite a few experts here on TB that should be more than capable of helping. Especially now that we can see your beautiful babies. Congrats on them all!

Your budgies are beyond beautiful!

I've flagged your thread so hopefully our mutations experts will be dropping by to give you their opinions shortly.

Hello and to Talk Budgies!

You certainly have some stunning birds

The bird you circled looks like an opaline, fullbody greywing, either sky blue or cobalt violet, yellowface I, which theoretically would make a rainbow budgie She is beautiful!

I hope to see lots more of you and your birds around the forums! Any more questions are always welcome

Those birds are sooo pretty! You can breed them with big exhibition birds to get bigger birds, but you will have to study the genetics of all their colors carefully to get pairs that will reproduce the colors you have now, and it will take many many generations before you can produce birds with rainbow colors and proper exhibition type bodies. If you just want to have bigger birds that will happen more quickly, but it will take a lot of work to breed show quality birds.

I like your birds just the way they are now, they are beautiful

I'm not entirely sure if those budgies are true rainbows or not, if not then they are very close. To my understanding, they need to be clearwings and most of them are full body colour greywings.
They are beautiful and do have a decent size for pet type budgies. And while it is possible to potentially breed them with the larger English budgies, it would take an enormous effort to reach satisfactory results, not to mention during the process, the offspring could lose the desired colours to make rainbows, depending on the English mates used for breeding.
Another factor to take into account is that it is highly likely this flock is made up of full siblings and that can also lead to future troubles.

If you have three pair of budgies that you acquired from the same breeder they are most likely related. It is not a good idea to breed related budgies as the result is genetic defects and health issues for the offspring.

If you are planning to breed budgies in the future, please do as much research as possible prior to deciding to take on that responsibility.
