Default Mutations

Hi I've been reading posts about budgie mutations and wondered if anyone could help determine mine. In the pet shop he looked grey compared to the blue and violet birds but he does seem to photograph quite blue and has the turquoise flecks in his wings.

Pictures taken with flash aren't the best to see the real colours. I have looked at your other thread at the Budgie Pictures section and on the last pic you posted this morning, which confirms your Squidgy is a girl, to me it seems she is a mauve budgie. She's possibly opaline as well, because I see some flecking on the head/face.

I'm moving this thread to the Mutations and Genetics section where it's most appropriate.

Squidgy appears to be a mauve normal to me, I don't see any opaline markings like white bars on the wing feathers or no bars on the saddle but there is definitely lots of suffusion into her back.

Either way, she's beautiful!

I'm also unable to see the first two pictures you posted

A Mauve Opaline to my eyes, though a heavily barred/flecked one.

Mauve is the darkest shade of blue and often looks grey compared to Cobalts and Skyblues.
