Default Question about Lightning's mutation

Ok, so Lightning is a Dark Green Recessive Pied (I think, still too young to tell but he hasn't gotten any iris rings yet) his parents are Dollar (Light Green Opaline Clearflight Pied / Rec. Pied- no background on parents though) and Cloud (Albino / dark factor- parents were a male albino and a female Cobalt Greywing Opaline / albino- this pair also had a male albino in this particular clutch, the female would also have to be split albino to get a male right?)

anyway, now that you've all gotten the background info, I have a question I think he's masking a mutation because he has white spots for his mask, rather than blue ones. Does anyone have any clue as to if he's masking anything? if so, what is he masking?

Here's a pic if it will help

I'm not sure if the white cheek patches mean anything

But I do know a female can not be split to Albino because Albino is a sex linked gene

Lightning is a dominant pied not a recessive pied. Are you sure his parent was clearflight pied not dominant pied?

A female can't be split for albino because it is a sex linked mutation. To get a male albino chick the mother would have to be an ino (albino or lutino) and the father would have to be either ino or be split for ino

ok... that makes more sense. Its 2 in the morning here so Im not being as sensible as usual. and yeah I think I said Clearflight pied (but I also thought you said Dollar was split for another pied, thought you said rec. pied, but most likely not. as I said before- not completely awake right now. wanted to find out his mutation before I forget lol)

anyway, does the white cheek patches mean he's split for anything or not lol?

hehe doesn't it make it nice when we don't have to erase or scribble any thing out to fix their mutations

I forgot i was going to mention I didn't think the cheek patches meant anything

my Jasmine Has the lightest Purple Cheek patches - and I don't know why She's a yellow face type 2 sky blue cinnamon, BUT also her entire bottom half of her body is light purple NOT the sea foam green it should be OR the top half of her is, from being the YF2

i'm going to give it my best shot tomorrow To get it to show up for a change in pictures if i get time.

luckily I don't have to erase anything because I have mine on the computer, but I would have to erase on his records on paper (I keep their lineage charts and basic info on paper lol)
