Anyone ever seen a Budgie like this? Only way I can think it's even possible is chimera.

Here's another picture of her tummy

Thanks.. I just can't figure out what in the world would make her both green and blue. Her mom is a green budgie, and her dad is a blue/white .. and she is definitely split to blue ((has 2 blue/white babies)) But I've never ran across a green bird with a half blue belly.

She's beautiful!

She is blue--blue based, anyways. It is likely that she is goldenface, which is causing the green (as it blends with the blue on her upper chest but not lower belly).

She appears to be a cobalt, greywing goldenface, from what I'm seeing.

Chimera budgies are split horizontally, not vertically, as far as I know.

Also, her mother could have been hiding Goldenface because it doesn't show in green budgies but they can still have it if one of their parents was a blue based goldenface. Because it's a dominant gene, she'd only need one copy to show visual.

That's my best guess! But beautiful budgie!

But golden face budgies don't start bleeding into their bodies until after the first molt. Chimera is a term that states there are two different DNA sequences in one bird. What you are referring to is a half sider, which is a type of chimera. She's definitely a green bird, her wings wouldn't be green and yellow if she wasn't. But she is half blue on her belly.

Not sure about chimera, but it seems to be most likely.

Oh, and also can't be golden face, because she has pure white/blue siblings. Which means that she can't be split yellow or golden face, has to be split white.

Well, if you're sure she's green, she could also be showing split blue or be sf violet, if it's the former she'll moult it out by her first moult. That seems kind of unlikely, though--from the pictures it just looks like maybe she's violet green, which would explain the "dusty" moss green colour on her breast instead of light green. Although sometimes goldenface/yellowface chicks do bleed yellow into wings/body before their first moult, right now what you said makes it unlikely.

I'm not sure if she's a chimera, though. It just doesn't seem like a blue enough blue to be not a violet factor or something like that.

I'm sure it will become more obvious as she grows, though. (hint, hint--)

I have seen green babies with blue around the lower belly and vent. It is not a chimera, just a bit more blue than usually shows I would say.

Looks normal to me. Ive had plenty of green babies split to blue who have had blue vents and bellies.

What colour are the festhers directly under the wing?
