Question Grey and Blue Budgie- confused!

This is a recessive pied hen from my last clutch. She's going through her first molt, and as she does her patches are becoming more distinct. She has both blue and grey patches. The first two pics of her are from today, and the last one is from before she started molting.

That is pretty odd, what does she look like form the front?

Do you know what colour her parents are? It looks like she is a grey but the grey is not covering the blue fully? Or perhaps something is affecting her ability to produce colour in her feathers properly?

She was moving a lot and this is the clearest I got of her front. It is a blue color with like grey specks in it. I have a picture of her parents included here as well.

I thought maybe it was patches because she is a pied variety, but I've never seen a grey recessive pied (I have two, and have seen others) with distinct patches like this. There are more patches under her wings and on her sides, but its hard to get a pic of her there.

Hello and to the forums!

This is hard--she looks to be maybe mauve double factor violet, which would show blue in some lights. Apart from that, the violet sometimes spreads in irregular patches like that, or the patches could just be the product of the pied gene.

Or, she could have excess melanin (in a normal bird, the grey patches would be black) but the greywing gene eliminated the black and made it grey, like the wing markings. That's my best guess--either way, she looks stunning and is definitely a unique and beautiful little girl!

I hope you share some more flock pictures with us when you have the time and I'm looking forward to seeing you around here

If you ever have any questions, please do ask as we'd love to help!

She doesn't have a name yet as I was planning on selling that clutch until I noticed her colors getting more distinct. So far there's a huge debate going on another group about her father because of how dark his coloring is. I'm going to go with the answer of her father is a DF Violet Grey Fullbody Greywing, whereas both the DF Violet and the Fullbody GW enhanced and darkened his color. He passed on the Grey and SF Violet to his daughter, causing the mix of colors. And its an anomaly of some sort thanks to her pied genes, or it is excess melanin. When she's old enough I'll breed her to see what she produces, and I'm also going to monitor her with each molt and take pictures so I can check for changes. She's definitely a beauty, and such a strange pattern she has on her rump. Here are some pictures of my newest clutch I have about 20ish budgies right now, as well as a Congo African Grey, a Blue Crown Conure and a Green Cheek Conure. So lots of birds to take pictures of, but these are readily available so I'm posting them

Where are you getting male from? The picture of her parents? Because none of the images I shared of the recessive pied chick have her cere showing, which turned white after her first molt began, unlike the pink/purple coloration of her father's.
