Default Can anyone tell me about my budgie?

Hello!

Sorry I'm posting all over the forum at the moment - maybe I should just set up a thread of 'Amanda asks ALL the questions'.

I had a look at the mutation and colour guide sticky but my little blonde head couldn't make any sense of it, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about Thor? And if anyone can explain what it means in simple terms? I would be very appreciative!

Here's some photos to help-

I think your Thor is a golden face cobalt violet normal budgie. He's a cutie!

He's cute! I think he is the same mutation as Indi.

He's similar to Indi, Gaby. But the yellow on Thor's face is richer in colour and more vibrant. Indi is yellow face type I and Thor appears to be golden face, to me the yellow is even richer to be yellow face II. My boy Leonel is yellow face type II and his shade of yellow is fainter and not as rich as Thor's.

I would certainly agree that Indi and Thor are extremely similar! But yeah, Indi's face looks more lemony to me, Thor's is very yellow - he also has bright yellow stripes on his tail which are quite unusual looking!

Those stripes you mention are normal for yellow faces/golden faces and they are extraordinarily beautiful!

I also noticed that Indi's face is less yellowish but I thought it's because of the camera or something like that. I always thought that yellow face II and golden face always have turquoise bodys because of the amount of yellow.

I've just grabbed Thor for a quick photoshoot in front of the window (for natural light... and metaphorically grabbed...) and will put a wee photo of Indi next to it for comparisons sake, and because this is all so interesting (Hope you don't mind Lyn!!)
