Default new bird help with mutation

So I got a new girl. Her name is Trixie. She's not tame yet and is approximately a year old. I apologise for the blurry picture its the best I could get with her wings. she has a yellow spot on the back of her neck like she does on her tummy.

Congratulations on your new girl, she's beautiful! I'd say she is a light green dominant pied budgie.

Thank you very much! Would there be a size difference with different mutations? I have a mauve spangle male and he seems much bigger compared to her. He is 2 years old.

No, mutations don't generally have an impact on size with the exception of show budgies where size is a trait that must be bred for and some rarer mutations haven't had time to be bred enough to produce larger birds.

In the case of pet type or American budgies (and English budgies that are bred for temperament, as pets) mutation does not directly affect size in any way Just like people, budgies can be larger or smaller than average

He's beautiful, by the way! From that picture, he looks to be cobalt violet

hmm I though he was mauve? he is definitely gorgeous though. he's stubborn though. he does what he wants when he wants. some days he's more than happy to come out other days it requires a ton of coaxing to get him out only for a fly around the room and back to the cage. He also will not eat anything that's good for him besides occasionally lettuce and fruit. hes a sweet heart though. I'm hoping little Trixie will be sweet like him. shes shy and untamed right now her previous owner had been trying but I tend to believe she was grabby. I have Trixie quarantined and I can hear them singing to eachother across the house its sweet.

heres a better picture.

From that picture I can see he is mauve, the light was a little off on the first pic of him. Although, he is definitely at least single factor violet because the violet factor is very strong.

What a beautiful boy!
