Default Help with colour

I have just purchased this little girl from our local breeder for my mum. The photos are from when she was still in the cage before I purchased her and took her home. I'm thinking shes a violet (she is definitely more purpley to the naked eye than in photos)

Would love to know what you guys think the colouring is and a rough age.

She's beautiful!

She is a cobalt double factor violet normal budgie Violet is a colour adding factor, so true "violet" budgies are really cobalt usually with one or two violet factors

She appears to be at least a year old judging by the development of her irises and the colour of her cere, which appears to be coming into condition.

What a beauty!

I agree with Starling on the colour!

I'm no expert at aging but she looks younger than a year to me. I was thinking that the iris rings seemed to be still coming in and she still has some baby bars to moult out?

Thanks guys! She really is a beauty! We've been looking for a budgie in this colour for a while now. It was just by chance that I came across her today

Indeed, this beautiful female is fairly young and not yet an adult.

Looking at her I'd say she is fresh from turning 6 months old, her cere is coming into breeding condition for the first time (first tanning of the cere).

The irises at this point still have a greyish colour (not fully developed) and she still has a few remnants of her baby barring on the forehead area (not to be mistaken with flecking, that's clearly normal barring).

Thats what I also thought, around 6 months. Still have some bars and the iris are still gray. <just hitting maturity.
